Textile Design and Dress making

'Building Blocks' is a personal textile design and making project, inspired by abstract contemporary art and modern architecture.

 

The design was created by a collaging photographs, tracing the image and transferring the design onto seven separate screens to be hand printed onto fabric, creating multiple layers of bold colours. Once printed, the fabric was cut and made into a 1950s silhouetted dress.
