Warp and Woof (2020)

An AUB Theatre Production

Warp and Woof was a play I was selected to design from January 2020, to be put into production during May 2020. After months of designing and working with costume makers and supervisors to realise the show, the world was hit with the COVID-19 pandemic; situating a national lockdown. As a result, the play was postponed until it was safe enough to be put on stage.

After months of preparation, it was of course disheartening as no one knew when live theatre was going to be safe again. However in September 2020, the show was finally able to be realised with appropriate Covid-safe measures in place. A reduced costume and production team, as well as a socially-distanced cast (on stage and backstage) with no live audience, resulted in one of the first Covid-safe live theatre performances in the U.K. The play was filmed and streamed online for free on the Arts University Bournemouth website, allowing others to enjoy the show, no matter where they were.
